2017 Silberkuhlsturm SKT Essen – DE

KÖLBL KRUSE has built the new company headquarters for the energy service provider ista Deutschland GmbH on Luxemburger Strasse in Essen. The handover to the user was completed on schedule at the end of 2017.

The six floors of the building complex enclose a protected inner courtyard. Two portal-like high points mark its opening to the neighbouring park and lead into the ensemble. Striking bands define the surrounding façade, loosen the otherwise strict grid and bind the structures in their unusual arrangement.

Inside, the foyer is directly adjoined by the central conference area with flexible meeting rooms and the company restaurant. The floors above serve for office use and consist of two-storey and three-storey structures, which permit all variants of an office landscape.

With 17,000 sq. metres of gross floor space, the building offers space for 600 employees. The building was awarded the DGNB Gold Certificate for its excellent ecological balance.
